Elina Taskinen obtained her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in organic chemistry at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, in 2020 with the focus on total synthesis of natural products. In 2025 she completed her PhD at the University of Regensburg under the supervision of Prof. Burkhard König. During her doctoral studies she developed photocatalytic methods for dehydroxylative and decarboxylative transformations as well as carried out studies on ion-pairing effects in photochemistry. In 2026 she returned to the University of Jyväskylä for postdoctoral studies in synthetic electrochemistry in the group of Prof. Petri Pihko.
