Ewan Tushkanov received a BA in Medicinal Chemistry from Trinity College Dublin. His dissertation examined naphthalimide-based Tröger’s bases as DNA-targeting molecules.
His doctoral research develops electrochemical carbonyl chemistry. He is first author of e-Carbonyl, an electrochemical route to α-keto esters through α-carbonyl carbocations, and studies how reaction conditions control the formation and capture of carbonyl-derived intermediates.
