John
graduated with a Master’s degree in chemistry and physics from the University
of St Andrews in 2022. His final-year project sought to investigate the
reactivity of peri-substituted aromatic compounds, with the aim of testing the
possibility, as predicted by a computational study, of a bonding interaction
between peri atoms.
In
2023, John joined the Lam research group with an eagerness to broaden his
understanding of synthetic chemistry by means of the pursuit of a Ph.D.
John can often be found writing or performing music of some description when not at work.
